Just over a year old, my Cosmos Touch seems to hold irregular charges When charging it does not always state fully charged.. Thought a new battery might help.. Installed and plugged in to wall outlet and phone says says use genuine battery powering down. My Cosmo is having errors while trying to connect to anything it can't even download a picture right now. I'm tired of using someone else's phone to get what I need. Some times it works and others it dosnt it isn't the connection though cuz it messes up when it sais I have 4 bars plz help.
Got some water on my LG Cosmos. Buttons not working. When I plug in, if I press the ok button I can see the screen. When I let go I cannot see screen. I also cannot turn on phone unless i plug into computer. I did get some water on it. Please any advise. I've had mine for almost 2 years now, never dropped it in water or anything too terrible. I've tried wiggling it but nothing works.
The screen on my LG-VN cosmos is black when i turn it on. I can still txt and call with it, but the screen is still black. I don't know what to do. I tried the volume button but it says "ear piece volume". Just recently some of my conversations are breaking up. Like I'm only getting every other word. They are hearing me fine, but on my end they keep cutting out.
Any solutions? I purchased a battery for my cosmos. It shows batery charged but when you unplug it and try to turn on the phone it will not turn on but if if you plug it in to charge the phone will turn on with this new battery but as soon as you unplug it the phone goes dead. Is there some type of sequence I need to do to get the phone to recognize the new battery? Mike - My only thought is to try using the backup assistant. I'm not sure if you can initialize it without having access to the touch screen but if you could get it going, you may be able to offload the pictures and other info.
Do a bing search for LG cosmos Backup Assistant. It is a free product with verizon accounts. My wife's cosmos touch screen quit working. Verizon has replaced it, but I would really like to get the pics off of the old phone and can't because the touch screen won't work. Do you know how I could get to them by using the keypad alone?
Jeff - I've not had that happen to me but I'm guessing you are low on available memory for your phone. If you have extra pictures or texts you could try to free ups some space but that's just a guess. Please let us know if you find a solutions. Kourtney - If the problem happens on the other phones then there is a problem with her phone. It might be a sticky key.
If there is a sticky send key it might cause this issue. Otherwise, she may have some sort of hardware problem. If it does not follow the phone, say for instance it only happens with texts sent to you, then there is some sort of issue between your phone and hers. Select option 2 and it will do the rest. Hope theres a reason for this, thanks! My friend's cosmo keeps sending tons of texts multiple times. She checked the bill today and in the last 3 days her phone has sent 10, texts. Also it wont receive the texts sent to her on time. Is there a way to fix this? Justin - Not sure of the specific issue but if it is just from one kind of phone, it might be a format issue.
That should not be the case because texts are supposed to be all sms compatible format. Probably need to do some experimenting. See if you can find someone else with the same kind of phone to send you a text as well and see if the problem follows the phone or just the single users. Wish I had more. When I receive text messages from friends with iphone the message will not come through completely. Christina - I'm afraid I don't have any good suggestions.
I had to do it twice but each time it came one and the problem I had was keyboard function. Sounds to me like you might have a hardware issue. Molly - I'm afraid you are probably out of luck as well. There is no way to 'turn off' the vibrate function so it is likely that the function is inoperable. You could try to download some obnoxious ring tones to wake you up??? Emily - Sounds like you are having a catastrophic failure with your display. Hopefully you have backed up your contacts because you probably need a new phone.
T - If you use an SD card, try removing the card and see if the phone works better. If it does then something on your SD card is discharging the battery.
This can happen if you are storing your phone wall paper on the SD card. Give that a try. Zekii - There are a number of reasons but the first question is where does the texting process fail.
Can you type the text but it fails sending it or does it fail when you try to create the text? A few more clues might help. Mike F - Not sure what is going on here. Make sure you have the hands free settings set up normal. You can access it from the menu key hitting, 9 3 1 then select Settings. Be sure the CLR key activation is set to on. If that doesn't work, I'm stumped. The vibrate option on my cosmos seems to have broken. I turned it onto alarm only, but even after I switched it back, it won't vibrate!
I use the alarm clock to wake up, but I'll sleep through it if there is only sound. Is there anything I can do, short of getting a new phone, to get the vibrate back? I've tried turning sound on an off again, and restarting the phone, but nothing has worked yet.
Megan, Seems to me the phone is dying. When there are multiple issues it is often related to a catastrophic problem. In this case my bet is the hardware is failing. Sorry for the bad news.
Alex - my first thought would be to turn on the speaker phone to see if you can get the sound rerouted. I'm guessing you tried that. If that did not work, my guess is that you have an issue with the headphone receptacle. I don't know if you can maybe take a peek with a flashlight and see if you can see anything that does not look right. Kind of a small hole so that may or may not work but it is my best guess without seeing the phone.
Let us know what you find. Jules - yes there seems to be a trend with this kind of problem. If you've followed all the suggestions, try and see if you can see the animated battery charge symbol when you are playing around with it. If it starts to animate the hold it in place. If when you let go it stops, you probably have a bad connector.
If it never animates you may have a bad charger. I dropped my Lg Cosmos 2 a few days ago, it's been in and out of rice but does not turn it, instead flashes the Verizon Wireless loading screen??? When I try to use hands free voice command I say 'Call' it asks 'name or number' I give it one of my contacts and the phone restarts and goes back to the home screen and will not make the call using hands free.

I've tried taking out the battery but it's still the same. I can still charge it, though. Think I'm going to take it to the Verizon store So for some reason my lg cosmo won't hold a charge anymore. I have completely charged it and it still knocks down my battery life. And when i use the slide out keyboard to txt i have to wait for the screen to catch up, also I can no longer receive picture messages and my camera sucks!! I am fed up with verizon. I've already taken out the battery and all but I don't know what 's wrong.
I have the same charging problem. It doesn't hold it's charge for even a full day, no matter how little I use it. I have already replaced the battery once a few months ago. The phone is not even 1. It turns on and off whenever it pleases, which I have seen a lot of comments on this issue. Also, a few of the keys randomly stop working, like the 6 button on the front keyboard.
It will register as me pressing it more than once sometimes, and other times will not register anything at all. My last problem is the worst, and it just started today. I have not seen anybody else with this problem on any website so far, so if anyone has any help please let me know! But the screen keeps going all fuzzy and then flashing a black screen for a split second, then goes back to fuzzy. It still lets me use it, but it shows multiple screens instead of one screen.

You need to format your card and the explanation is in that article. Marie - A couple suggestions, you memory could be full or your plan may be configured not to accept pictures. If you are with Verizon I believe you can check online what your plan configuration is set to. I'm sure other plans have similar features. I've had a cosmos for about three months now and for some reason my phone won't receive any picture messages from other phones. Do you know what the problem is and can it be fixed.
Lydia - Try formatting your SD Card. When you first installed the card, it should walk you through a process to format the card.
