The licenses for the Disc games are on the disc themselves that is why you still need to have the disc in the console in order to play the disc games. With the All digital systems there is no disc drive to put the disc in so you would need to purchase the games digitally if you want to play them on your all digital system.
Unfortunately, it isn't possible to transfer a Xbox game disc to all-digital. However, what you can do is trade the CDs at CEX or any nearby game trading point and save some money on the new title you would like to purchase. I would like to ask if its possible to somehow transfer or use the backward compataiblity feature with xbox disc games onto a xbox one s all-digital as i dont see any options to install my disc games.
